There's a 99.99% chance you are not behind a proxy server. Instruct it to connect directly using a DHCP aquired address.SSID is the name that identifies a wireless network, WEP and WPA are tryes of data encryption for wireless networks whereby each node has a matching encryption key - both are for wireless networks.

I beleive you are confused. It is very unlikely there is a proxy in use.It is very likely you have a dynamic IP address from your ISP. You should assign dynamic IP addresses to the LAN and Wireless connectors.Always use a wired connection to your router when you do configurations. On the router's WAN configuration, be sure it is configured for a dynamic IP address. If your ISP uses PPPoE protocol, be sure to state that in your config and enter your PPPoE (Point to Point Protocol over Ethernet) user name and password given you from your ISP. If your ISP is using IP Routing protocol instead of PPPoE, state that in the config and no user name or password are to be entered as there are none.On the router's LAN side, set it up to provide IP addresses via Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP). Make sure all LAN connections are set to obtain IP addresses automatically. At this point you should be able to access the Internet using a wired connection. If not you have a config error you need to address.Once you can get Internet access via wired connection, proceed to configure the wireless. Turn on the wireless capability, change the ssid to something other than the default ssid, enable security (WPA with a preshared key is stronger and I suggest you use this if you can). Activate MAC address validation and enter the MAC address of each wireless port for each pc you want to access via wireless (be sure to select the proper device as if you enter, for example, the MAC of the wired port instead of the MAC for the wireless you will not get on).Save the router config on the router or you will loose it when you reboot. Now all should work.Note what you did, what you changed, the new ssid, the preshared key, etc.
