Proxy problem - keeps asking for username?

I stay in boarding school so I use a proxy server to use the net, and usually it'll just ask for my username and password when I open it for the first time... it'll ask for it again once in awhile, but ever since I upgraded my firefox it keeps asking every single bloody time I open a new tab/page. I really like using firefox as my browser compared to chrome or ie (blegh) but the whole interrogating me for my username every single bloody time is driving me up the wall! D=<
