Is my real IP address hidden when I'm behind my ISP's proxy server?
I live in the United Arab Emirates, Dubai and our government instructs the ISP to use a proxy server mainly for internet content filtering. So what I want to ask is that is my real IP address hidden? I have a DSL line at home. I typed in 'ipconfig' on Command Prompt and it showed that my IP address is 192.168.254.1 and in a website it showed that my IP is 195.229.241.182 What does this mean? And can i change my IP address?

Yes your real ip is hidden. It can be changed if you use proxy sites like http://www.proxify.org/Hope it solves your problem.

If your IP shows 192.168,x,x then your computer is on a "PRIVATE" network and is not publicly viewable. There are several networking IP's that are only used for private networks.. these include IP's in the 10.x.x.x range and 192.168.x.x and one I forget at the moment..(getting old)These are considered "non-routable" private networks. The 195.229.x.x is the ISP's public IP and you have no control over it since they assign that to the proxy server.
