i want to route my IP address through a shell or proxy?

i am connecting to a telnet application that restricts new accounts from my IP due to it being a localised router(which i dont have admin rights to) however i have admin rights to this machine, i neeed to connect to the telnet application via a shell account(using there IP) or maybe a proxy? once the account is created i wont have a problem logging on, thus the question is, other than searching for hrs for a free shell account is there any other way i can get passed this restriction?(added detail) i understand that this method is outdated but there are telnet servers out there. im trying to connect to what is called a MUD. not a computer as such.
